 The story of Segafredo
Zanetti is intertwined with that of my
family. It is a simple story; one retold
by many old families in the world of
coffee. My grand father sold coffee. So
did my father. So do I. The difference is
that my grandfather and my father were in
the business of green coffee. I was the
first in the family to produce and sell
roasted coffee. Tradition become useless
if not positioned in our vision of the
future.
Thirty years ago, I started my first
coffee roasting company. It sold about
one ton in that year. Today, the Group
Segafredo Zanetti plants, selects and
sells well over 1.300.000 bags per year
of green coffee and produces roasted
coffee all over the World.
The company grew first in Italy, to
become the leader in the out-of-home
coffee market, the place of real
Espresso.
In then extended to the household coffee
market and expanded internationally.
The main elements always present are:
Coffee, developed in all its stages (from
the Agoindustrial Project, to the green
coffee and trading), Espresso, Quality
and Service.
